In the end only 3 things matter: how much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of the things not meant for you.
making is empowering
I started sewing at a young age when my mother showed me how to fix a pair of jeans that I really liked. I took to it and started making all sorts of things. It turns out that 'making' is what makes me.
In sum, I am a retired athlete with a degree in psychology from McGill University, Also, a wife and a mom of two great girls. In more recent years, a self taught graphic/pattern/industrial designer who believes that hard work, creativity, curiosity and motivation are at the essence of what makes us better in all aspects of our lives.
The 'Sofs' part is my alter ego and it emerged from a mixture of the need to create and the pleasure that results from it. Sofs is a wanderer who believes that making is empowering and in turn, loves to empower self and others while on journey.
That said, I am constantly and actively searching for ways to have people engage in 'making' their own and then sharing the joy and passion that results from it. AND this also means that when we buy from 'makers' (like me), we help people that are passionate about 'making' live a life that is fullfilling and empowering. That's huge! Thank you..
Please take a look at the next few web pages to see what I keep busy with..maybe you'll find something that you like or that you want to make!
