OK so I already lost track of the weeks and the numbers of the models that I have designed so far in 2020. I think I will just have to count back at the end of the year!
Here are the latest 3 models. our two latest designs are now available! The vw beetle was spray painted metalic to give it the metal look. You can make it smaller too by reducing the % at which you print the template if you get the digital download file. Have fun! Week 04: January 20, 2020 to January 26, 2020 Week 05: January 27, 2020 to February 2, 2020
This year 2020 I am challenging myself to create one new 3d papercarft model a week! That's 53 new patterns for all of us to enjoy. Do you think I can do it? I thank we can! Myself and Milena will be kicking this challenge to the curb. Watch us on instag gram or come to this blog to see how we do. Maybe you can challenge yourself as well and make one DIY papercraft a week too!! Every week (or so) I will showcase and post the link to our new model here on our blog. Week 01: December 30, 2019 to January 5, 2020 Week 02: January 6, 2020 to January 12, 2020 Week 03: January 13, 2020 to January 19, 2020
Way back when I started the Sofs adventure in 2008 I use to say that I love vintage with a modern twist. Also that I was into old with a digital flair. Well, I still am today. I have an ETSY vintage boutique that keeps getting better and better and my vintage sewing machine collection keeps growing. Plus it is now joined by vintage tvs, typewriters, cameras, pottery,etc..
Looking back I found this post on my 'old blog'. It's talking about the first vintage machine I got. Also this post I wrote about my first brother pink vintage sewing machine! (see picture above) I have many more today and most are for sell and/or for rent as props for events or photoshoots. Last week I found a Morse pink and today I got a queen pink. Yes, a queen sewing machine, how fun!! Check it out.. I have been dreaming of owning a laser cutter but for many reasons inclufing the financial side of things, I have been waiting. If some of you follow my adventures a little you'll remind that I have been making wood decoration objects using my scroll saw instead. I actually love the scoll saw still however I now also LOVE my glowforge! They have a porogram that can get you up to $500 off if you purchase with a code. (I didn't know that but I wish I had!) If you use this code, we both get some perks! Use it if you want to buy one. Also Here is a free template pattern to get you going. Check out of shop for many more patterns and also some ready made wood objects and more! Thank you and happy making.
Share what you make with our templates on our insta SofsWoodLand for a chance to win free stuff!
I find myself reflecting on how I used to compete in all 4 disciplines when I was a alpine ski racers and, that now that I am a maker, I still have the need to be involved in 4 types of disciplines. I wonder what this all means??
Regardless of the meaning (and for fun) I am trying to match what I do now to the 4 alpine skiing discipline. Let's start with my most enduring discipline as a skier was and is 'Slalom' as seen in picture above. I would have to say that 'Fabric Sphere' is my Slalom in many ways. My most exhilarating discipline was 'Downhill' which both excited and scared me at the same time. I would equate this to 'Paper planet' mainly because the possibilities are both thrilling and nerve racking sometimes. I just don't know if one life time will be enough for me to make all the things I dream of!! 'Super G' is next and is sort of an off-shoot of downhillin some ways. That is definitely my 'WoodLand' as I fidn the procees of designing and choosing the objects to make similar to that of designing my paper models. Finally, my most elusive discipline when I was a racer was 'Giant slalom'. I would say that this is my 'Illustration Orbit' because I found that you either had the giant slalom rythmn or you did not (a bit like Slalom). If you didn't, you had to spend more time getting it just right. I think that illustartors are often a one disciple kinda artist and concentrate their careers on being great at it. I do it cause I just love it however I acquire the skills on a slower timeframe since I am dividing my attention with all discipline. I don't really mind as I just love it and it makes me feel well. That's it, just a little fun comparison. Do you have a similar thing going on?.. |
