a guide to waterproof fabrics
In recent years I started using a lot of 'waterproof' fabrics to make all sorts of useful bags. I often get asked what type of fabrics I am using and what they are made with.
sThe answer is never as simple and quick as I would like it to be. Mainly its because I often forget how to pronounce the words of the material use to 'waterproof' the fabrics and add to this, my nice French accent and its gets a bit complicated!! While researching for this blog post I came across another great post that well, really as it all so why reinvent the wheel.
Although a few of the fabric that are mentioned in there I don't use, it really explains well the difference between the PUL type fabric and the PVC ones. Those two are the main available kinds that I work with along side the ripstop nylon that I also really love. Please know that to make my reusable and food safe bags I use the cotton or cotton linen blend PUL fabrics.
