For what seems to be my whole life I have, at times, felt inadequate, and oppressed, because all I ever wanted was to have fun. Yes, fun. In primary school I was a regular fixture at the director's office, in high school as well. Not because I was 'mean' to other kids (although I must also confess to having been mean to a few kids in my youth and to this day I still feel very sad about that) I was often visiting the director's office because I was having too much fun and it was disturbing others. Later, while in competitive sport, I remember being shunned by some coaches because I was having too much fun and I was not serious enough. This pattern as followed me all the way to adulthood where I always feel the need to inject fun in everything I do. So much so that I ended up 'needing' to leave my 'too serious' of a day job to become a full time fun seeker!!
I have understood why having fun is so important to me through therapy and deep soul searching. Fun is a way to combat stress and anxiety, as well as, a way to stay young at heart. Since I am anxious by nature, fun for me balances my psychic Today I can say that I feel free to be who I want to be: a fun loving person who loves to have...you guessed it, fun!! Fun for me is like breathing, I believe it should be a part of everything we do. I think that the lack of fun is the cause of many illness in our modern world. I feel that my life's mission is to help people see that having fun will make them feel healthier and happier. I know very well that there is a time and place for everything however I also know that there is nothing wrong with having fun in everything we do. Leaders especially have be able to nurture fun behavior as it will ultimately equal to success. That said, its important to distinguish between the 'good' fun and the chemicly enhanced fun. As kids we don't need any substance to have fun and it turns out as adults neither however for many reasons too many times we feel we must use 'something' in order to have fun. This screws up everything in the process. I suggest you try simple fun, like making stuff! You won't believe how great you'll feel!

My pleasure! Thanks for writing a message! It also gave me the chance to reread my own words and it is as true as it ever was. I have also learned that people with ADHD benefit to ‘funnify’ everything they do so that they can successfully focus and take care of the performance anxiety. Its not because they don’t take their tasks seriously, on the contrary it enables them to be successful ❤️
